High Pitch Document
Summary: The game is a 2d take on flappy birds game set in space, there are a variety of different settings/scenes which change upon meeting new tasks or transitioning to new levels. In this game your character will be spaceship sprite or bot, the task is to fight/defeat evil enemies, your character will also change upon new levels and so will enemies to keep excitement. This will get increasingly harder over the next few levels, to separate levels there will be a static screen, this creates a retro/80s vibe which is the feel the game will have throughout. The game is a 80s/retro arcade game and so will be a blast from the past!
Audience: This game is aimed for 6+ years as controls will be fairly simple and basic, making the game a casual and fun game to play for any age. To make the game more appealing to younger users there will be bright colours and noises, it will be fairly interactive so that interest is kept. There will also be an option in settings for colour and sound to be "muted" so that children and adults with sensory issues can play too.
Typography: typography will be fairly simple but have an arcade feel to it - aka the OCR font.

Players motivation: In this game the player is trying to reach the final level - to defeat enemies and make space a safe place.
Genre: The genre is an 80s retro/arcade take to flappy bird, but instead it uses a spaceship. Try to avoid rocks, enemies and slime and gain points and speed as you go throughout the game!
Target customer: The target customer is for 6+ ( a fun game for anyone, casual gameplay) this game is similar to flappy bird (which had a lot of hype) however this is set in space, a lot more is going on.
Competition: This game is a lot like flappy bird, in the sense that you have to tap or press (spacebar) to stay in the air, and avoid danger at all costs. Its may be better than the original flappy bird because its more interactive and has more outcomes, fun colours and sprites.
Target hardware: This game is mostly for phones and tablets but can also be played on the laptop or computer, making it available for everyone.
Characters: Theres 2 characters, each are fun and interactive, one of which is an enemy, the other is you. The evil character is an alien eyeball which causes you to lose health, it chucks out obstacles (colliders) such as rocks and slime and is a collider itself. You are the spaceship, at the start of the game youre assigned with a blue and grey ship in which you use to get around to next levels and avoid obstacles. In this game there are also several pick ups which are point coins, speed coins and Jewels which means you can be protected for a certain amount of time so if you do collide with an enemy, you can defeat it.

Analogue and digital
What is analogue? - Analogue technology is something that isn't digital like a analogue watch - you'd have to read the time rather than it being digital and telling you the exact time.
What is digital? - Digital technology is different, instead of storing words, numbers or pictures, it shows us a converted version and shows us the digits rather than the analogue version.
How does digital to analogue conversion work? - Digital conversion to analogue is done by a DAC converter which reads the analogue stored on a disk or item and is then turned into sound by digital so you can hear the music...

Movie file types
QUICKTIME
What? - Quicktime is an apple movie synchroniser and MOV is the most common suffix used for Quicktime files.
Why? - It may be deemed good as it uses both lossy and lossless compression.
How? - Quicktime files are generally small and any codec including H264 can be used for a 1v1 compression rate and It has an MP4 extension.
Pros - Aesthetically pleasing and good looking clips saved into small files, takes up minimal space. It's also very versatile and contains text and images.
Cons - High quality movie files need a codec, programs are needed to identify coding for the MOV. codec, without it the file cant be edited or played.
Assess - In my opinion MP4s are better as it can be changed format and there are no codecs or plug ins needed, its also recognised. MP4s are able to be used on all platforms like windows, android and apple whereas Quicktime files can only be used on IOS and other Apple products and platforms.
Compare - Quicktime files may be deemed more advantageous than MP4 files as high quality MOV.s can be held in small files and it is versatile because of many features you can add. MP4s could be seen as better than quicktime files as there is no hassle of codecs and plug- ins needed, it also has a wide platform range and while it has a large file size with medium quality the files can be stored anywhere.

What? - Is an MPEG file type (movie pictures experts group) with an MP4 file extension.
Why? - it may be deemed good to use because its most efficient.
Pros - Its efficient with low motion video content and no codecs are needed.
Cons - H.264 files are still in the process of being formulated. They are sensitive to motion complexity and compression isn't as efficient.
Asses - In my opinion H.264 files (MPEG) are better than quicktime files as they are on all platforms, and can be stored anywhere.
Compare- Quicktime files may be seen as better than MPEGs as they are higher quality

what? - AVI is a video and audio file format.
why? - It could be considered good as the file is simple and is spread across all platforms.
pros - simple and is spread across all platforms, no other hardware is needed for it to work.
cons - there are many codecs to use for it and lose quality if compressed too much however if not compressed the file size is very big.
FLV
what? - FLV is a file format by adobe to store or deliver synchronized audio and film.
why? - could be considered good as theres a separate FLV file format called H.264 for video.
pros - FLV files are generally small and store a lot, quality is high unless they're compressed over limit.
cons - FLV files need a lot of codecs to work and so take up a lot of space than without the codecs...
assess - In my opinion H.264 files (MPEG) are better than quicktime files as they are on all platforms, and can be stored anywhere.

BITMAP
what? - A raster image made of pixels on a grid. Bitmap images are dependent on resolution and when printing bitmap images your printer needs much more image data. Most bitmap image formats include GIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, TIFF and PSD
pros - Bitmap files can be easily created from existing pixel data, getting pixel data stored in a bitmap file is quick and easy and is accomplished using a set of coordinates
cons - Bitmap files can be very large and in order to compress the data must be expanded before hand which can slow down the reading and rendering process significantly more. They do not scale very well.
assess - Bitmaps may be better than Vectors in some cases as bitmap files are easily created while vectors are not. However Bitmaps lose quality when compressed and vectors dont.
compare - In my opinion Vectors are better than Bitmaps because they can be easily manipulated, rendered and modified with ease to suit users and not use quality whereas a bitmap would. Bitmap files are also larger than vector files however Bitmaps are easily created using data and vectors take longer.

pros - vectors are useful for storing images composed of line based elements. Vectors can be easily scales and manipulated. can be modified with ease and is usually easy to be rendered and save in a bitmap file format.
cons - some vector files cannot easily be used to store extremely complex images. appearance of vectors can vary considerably.
assess - Vectors are more advantageous than Bitmaps as they can be scaled and not lose quality, and can be easily rendered to a bitmap whereas bitmaps aren't easily rendered to vectors.
